The Gibraltar Youth Service’s annual Dolphins Summer BBQ brough together members of Dolphins Youth Club and their families for an evening of food, entertainment and celebration.
The event was supported by members of the Gibraltar Youth Service’s Young Leaders programme who played an important role throughout the evening by helping to prepare, cook, and serve food to attendees. Their involvement demonstrated the leadership, teamwork and responsibility that the programme encourages in young people.
Entertainment was provided by young DJ Nihal, who kept the atmosphere lively with music throughout the evening. Families also enjoyed a bouncy castle, a raffle and a packed programme of performances on stage.
One of the highlights of the evening was the performance section, which was entirely youth-led. Young people organised the running order themselves, hosted the stage, and performed throughout the evening, showcasing their confidence, creativity, and talent.
Youth and Community Worker Abdul Afrah said:
“The Summer BBQ is always one of the highlights of our year because it gives our members and their families the opportunity to come together and celebrate another fantastic year at Dolphins. It has been wonderful to see our young people taking the lead, whether helping to serve food, hosting the stage, or performing for their families and friends. They should be incredibly proud of everything they achieved.”
The annual Dolphins Summer BBQ has become a much-loved tradition within the club, providing an opportunity for young people and their families to enjoy time together, celebrate achievements, and recognise the positive contribution that the young people make to the club throughout the year.
The Gibraltar Youth Service would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. For further information about the youth service visit www.youth.gi or our socials.
