Gibraltar welcomed MSC Cruises’ MSC Seaview on Friday 24 April 2026, on the occasion of the vessel’s inaugural visit to the destination.
The visit was marked by the customary plaque exchange ceremony, held on board the ship and attended by members from the Gibraltar Tourist Board (GTB) and Maritima del Estrecho port agency. Michelle Vella, GTB Terminals Supervisor presented a commemorative plaque to the ship’s Operations Deputy Director, Ivan Alva on behalf of the Captain Francesco Saverio Veniero.
The Inaugural call was supported by members of the Re-enactment Society, who were present at the cruise terminal. Their attendance was extremely well received by the passengers.
The arrival of MSC Seaview brought 4,015 passengers to Gibraltar, generating considerable activity across the destination.
The call further highlights Gibraltar’s continued appeal to major cruise operators and reinforces its reputation as a well-established and attractive port of call within Mediterranean itineraries.
A spokesperson for the Gibraltar Tourist Board said: “We were very pleased to welcome MSC Seaview to Gibraltar. Cruise calls such as this continue to play an important role in supporting our tourism sector, bringing thousands of visitors to enjoy everything Gibraltar has to offer.
